Axcis Education is recruiting on behalf of a secondary school in Bristol for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join their Learning Base / inclusion provision for the full academic year starting in September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a structured support setting and is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
About the RoleAs a Learning Base Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Work within the school’s Learning Base / inclusion provision supporting pupils with additional needs
- Support students with a range of needs including SEND, SEMH and learning difficulties
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to help pupils access learning and succeed academically
- Support behaviour, emotional regulation and classroom engagement
- Work closely with teachers, SENCO and pastoral teams to provide consistent and effective support
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with secondary-aged pupils and/or young people with additional needs
- Is calm, patient and confident supporting pupils who may find mainstream lessons challenging
- Can build positive and trusting relationships with young people
- Works well as part of a supportive and collaborative team
- Has experience in a Learning Base, SEND provision or alternative provision (desirable but not essential)
- Full-time, stable role for the entire academic year
