Are you looking for a rewarding role supporting young people to overcome barriers and achieve their potential? We are looking for a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant/Youth Mental Health School Assistant to support students aged 16 to 18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs at a large and well-regarded secondary school and sixth form in the Swindon area.

This school is known for its inclusive culture, strong pastoral support and ambitious approach to education. Its most recent Ofsted inspection praised the quality of education, leadership and management, and highlighted that students enjoy attending school, engage positively with learning and benefit from a wide range of opportunities both inside and outside the classroom.

Starting in September, you will work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, supporting young people who need positive role models, encouragement and consistency to succeed. Following a successful 16-week settling-in period, the role will become permanent.

This opportunity would suit people from a range of backgrounds, including youth work, sports coaching, care, support work, mentoring or community roles. Previous school experience is not essential. We are looking for someone patient, resilient, empathetic and genuinely motivated to help vulnerable young people thrive.
