Teaching Assistant - Flexible Part-Time School-Based Work Bath Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm Immediate start Flexible hours and days Are you passionate about education and making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs? We are looking for caring, enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants to join our team, supporting pupils across Bath in specialist schools and mainstream educational settings. This is a fantastic opportunity for Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, aspiring teachers and individuals with a passion for education to gain valuable school-based experience while making a meaningful difference to pupils aged 5-18. You'll support pupils with learning disabilities and autism (ASC), helping them access the curriculum, develop independence and thrive in a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment. You'll work closely alongside experienced teachers and school staff, gaining hands-on experience within education.

Your role as a Teaching Assistant:

  • Support pupils with additional needs to access learning and engage with the curriculum
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support under the direction of the class teacher
  • Assist with classroom activities and help create an inclusive learning environment
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
  • Support pupils with their social, emotional and communication development
  • Help pupils develop important life and learning skills
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and school staff
  • Work collaboratively as part of a supportive school-based team

  • Β£14.25 per hour, paid weekly

About you:

  • Passionate about education and supporting children and young people
  • Caring, patient, adaptable and enthusiastic
  • Interested in developing a career within education, teaching or SEND
  • Previous experience in a school, education, care, youth work or support setting is desirable but not essential
  • A willingness to learn and undertake relevant training
  • Reliable and confident working as part of a school team
