Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs and looking for a rewarding opportunity within a specialist school setting? A fantastic school in Midhurst is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full‑time, temporary‑to‑permanent basis. The school supports children and young people aged 5 to 16 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), including pupils with autism, communication and interaction needs, and complex learning profiles. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting pupils both academically and personally, helping them to develop their confidence, independence and life skills in a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment. You will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to provide tailored one‑to‑one and small‑group support, helping pupils access learning and engage positively with school life. The role will also involve supporting pupils with their personal care needs, so candidates must be comfortable providing this aspect of care with dignity, patience and professionalism. This is a full‑time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, initially offered on a temporary basis with the opportunity to become permanent for the right person. Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND, autism or complex needs would be highly beneficial, although a caring attitude, resilience, patience and a genuine desire to make a difference are equally important. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a rewarding career within specialist education and become part of a supportive team dedicated to helping every pupil reach their potential. If you are enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs, we would love to hear from you.
