Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential? A well-established college is opening a brand-new site in the UB3 area and is looking for a caring and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a growing provision from the very beginning and play a key role in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).
You will work alongside an experienced and supportive team, helping learners engage with education, develop independence, build confidence, and achieve their personal goals.
The Role:
- Learning Support Assistant position
- September 2026 start
- Location: UB3
- Working 4–5 days per week
- Hours: 8:45am – 4:30pm (may vary depending on timetable)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for learners with PMLD
- Support students with learning activities and personal development
- Assist with personal care and mobility needs where required
- Encourage communication, independence, and engagement
- Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and other professionals
- Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience supporting individuals with PMLD, SEND, complex needs, or similar environments
- A caring, patient, and flexible approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
- The ability to build positive relationships with learners
