Axcis are working with a warm and inclusive primary school in Tower Hamlets that houses a dedicated Hearing Impaired Resource Base, seeking a compassionate BSL Teaching Assistant (Level 2+) to join their team. Responsibilities:

  • Supporting deaf and hearing-impaired pupils across EYFS to KS2 using BSL and visual aids to enhance learning and communication.
  • Working alongside Teachers of the Deaf and class teachers to deliver targeted interventions.
  • Adapting lesson materials and promoting inclusion within the wider school community.
  • Building confidence and independence in students through positive communication support.

What we’re looking for:

  • A minimum of BSL Level 2 qualification.
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with hearing impairments in an educational or youth setting.
  • A patient, empathetic communicator who thrives in a collaborative environment.
