As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced staff to help learners overcome barriers to education and achieve positive outcomes.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will build positive relationships with pupils, encourage engagement in learning, and support them to develop confidence in their abilities while accessing a broad and meaningful curriculum.
What the Teaching Assistant role involves:
- Working as a Teaching Assistant supporting pupils across primary and secondary age groups
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to help learners access education
- Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs
- Encouraging confidence, independence, and participation throughout the school day
- Working alongside teachers and wider professionals to deliver personalised support
- Supporting communication, emotional regulation, and positive engagement
- Helping create a safe, consistent, and inclusive learning environment
- Monitoring progress and sharing observations with the wider school team
What we are looking for in a Teaching Assistant:
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children and young people is desirable
- An interest in working within an SEMH setting
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- A proactive and positive attitude towards supporting individual learning journeys
