Axcis Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in St George, Bristol, to recruit a full-time Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant for the full academic year starting in September.

This rewarding role is based within the school's Early Years department, supporting children with a range of additional needs, particularly Autism and speech and language delays. You'll play a key role in helping young learners develop their communication, confidence and independence during these vital early years of education.

About the Role

As an Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND in Nursery and Reception
  • Support children with Autism, speech and language delays, and communication needs
  • Deliver engaging activities that encourage language development, social interaction and early learning
  • Work alongside teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to implement personalised support strategies
  • Help create a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment
  • Encourage pupils to build confidence, independence and positive relationships with their peers
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children with SEND, particularly Autism and speech and language needs (desirable but not essential)
  • Has a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Is patient, caring and enthusiastic about supporting young children
  • Can build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents
  • Is committed to helping every child achieve their full potential
