Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive team at a local school in Coventry.

The role will be a September start and will be on a full-time basis, every day Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality, personalised support to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), working closely with class teachers to promote academic progress, independence and wellbeing.

Within this role, you will be paid £14.25 an hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons for pupils with SEND.
  • Provide one-to-one or small-group support, implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
  • Facilitate the use of assistive technology and adaptive resources.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, communicating observations to teachers and parents.
  • Foster a safe, respectful and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Contribute to team meetings, safeguarding duties and professional development activities.
  • Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous experience working with secondary aged students
  • Knowledge and experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
  • Availability to work 8:30am – 4:00pm during the week
