The college supports young adults aged 19β25 with a range of complex learning needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Down's Syndrome, sensory impairments, complex medical needs, and non-verbal communication needs. THE ROLE
As a SEND Lecturer, you will deliver engaging, practical, and personalised learning sessions tailored to the individual needs of learners. Teaching will focus on:
- Independent living skills
- Life skills and personal development
- Cookery and practical learning activities
- Communication and social development
- Preparation for adulthood and progression pathways
You will work closely with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where every learner can thrive.
ABOUT YOU
We are keen to hear from candidates who have:
- Experience teaching or covering lessons within education settings
- Experience supporting learners with PMLD, ASD, Down's Syndrome, sensory needs, non-verbal communication needs, or complex medical needs
- Confidence delivering life skills, independent living skills, or practical-based learning activities such as cookery
- A passion for supporting learners with additional needs to achieve their full potential
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must hold one of the following:
- PGCEDET (Diploma in Education and Training)
- Level 6 qualification in Education, SEND, or a related field
- Master's degree in Education, SEND, or a related subject
