Axcis Education is working with a specialist Alternative Provision in Brislington, Bristol to recruit resilient and passionate Teaching Assistants for September starts. The provision supports Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils who have been excluded from mainstream education due to behavioural difficulties and SEMH needs, offering a structured yet supportive pathway back into learning. This role is ideal for candidates with a youth work, mentoring or behaviour support background, who are looking to make a genuine and lasting impact on young people’s lives.
About the Role
- Support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Help young people re-engage with education and develop positive behaviour strategies
- Build strong, consistent relationships as a mentor and positive role model
- Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom in a structured but flexible environment
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to maintain a safe, supportive and consistent setting
The Ideal Candidate
- Have experience in SEMH, behaviour support, youth work or mentoring
- Are calm, resilient and confident when managing challenging behaviour
- Can build strong, trusting relationships with young people
- Are passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers and achieve success
- Are adaptable and proactive within a dynamic alternative provision setting
