The Role

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's individual needs
  • Support emotional regulation, behaviour management and engagement in learning
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to implement personalised support strategies
  • Build a positive and trusting relationship that promotes confidence and independence
  • Adapt learning activities to ensure the pupil can access the curriculum successfully
  • Support transitions, routines and social interactions throughout the school day
  • Encourage positive participation, resilience and personal development

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational or SEND setting
  • A good understanding of ASC and SEMH needs
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Confidence supporting behaviour and emotional regulation
  • A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
