Are you a qualified SEND Teacher or SEN Teacher looking for an exciting opportunity within a brand-new specialist school? Axcis Education is recruiting an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Teacher to join a newly established specialist provision in Sutton, South London. This is a unique opportunity to become part of a growing school, helping to shape its future while supporting a small class of Year 7 students with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The pupils have a variety of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and non-verbal communication needs. The school offers modern facilities, excellent resources, supportive leadership, and strong transport links.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach a small Year 7 class within a specialist SEND setting.
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet individual learning needs.
- Adapt teaching strategies in line with each student's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
- Support pupils with Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs to achieve their academic and personal goals.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment where every learner can thrive.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Monitor progress, celebrate achievements, and support pupils during this important transition into secondary education.
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential).
- Previous experience teaching pupils with SEND within a mainstream school, specialist school, alternative provision, or PRU.
- A strong understanding of Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, and additional learning needs.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A patient, adaptable, and compassionate approach to teaching.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and helping every learner reach their full potential.
