Role Overview: Psychology Graduate Role – 1:1 Teaching Assistant, full‑time, starting ASAP. Provide one‑to‑one support to students aged 15–18 in mainstream secondary schools and colleges across Birmingham. Many learners have additional needs such as autism, ADHD, or social, emotional and mental health challenges. The role helps students stay engaged in lessons, develop coping strategies and build confidence in a structured school environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised support during class time and across the school day.
  • Assist students in maintaining focus and participation in lessons.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to develop and implement strategies that address individual learners’ needs.
  • Monitor progress and communicate any concerns about behaviour, learning or wellbeing.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive school climate.

Key Qualifications:

  • Graduation in Psychology or a related discipline.
  • Experience (voluntary or professional) supporting individuals with additional needs.
  • Strong interest in mental health and adolescent behaviour.
  • Empathy, patience, emotional intelligence, resilience, and a proactive attitude.
  • Reliability and commitment to a full‑time, Monday‑to‑Friday schedule (8:30 am–4:30 pm).
