Axcis Education is proud to be working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school in Warwick, who are seeking a caring and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to support children across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASC), moderate to severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD) and speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). The Role

  • Support individual pupils and small groups with special educational needs across both KS1 and KS2.
  • Use tools such as visual timetables, Makaton, and PECS to aid communication and learning.
  • Help pupils manage routines, transitions, and emotional regulation.
  • Assist the class teacher and SENCO in delivering adapted and differentiated learning activities.
  • Promote positive behaviour, engagement and confidence in the classroom.

About You

  • Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly autism, learning difficulties, or SLCN.
  • Understanding of child development, particularly within a primary education setting.
  • Patient, nurturing, and resilient with a positive attitude.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with EHCPs, structured interventions, or communication strategies is desirable.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., TA Level 2/3, childcare, psychology) is beneficial but not essential.
