Would you like to play a key role in helping children develop a love of learning? Axcis Education is working with a welcoming primary school in Wareham to recruit a committed Primary Teaching Assistant to support pupils within Key Stage 1. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to make a lasting impact during the early years of their education. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced teachers to support learning across the classroom while providing additional guidance for pupils who need extra help, including children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Your Responsibilities:
- Support teaching and learning across a KS1 classroom
- Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to help pupils reach their learning goals
- Provide additional support for children with SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD and speech and language needs
- Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours
- Help children strengthen their reading, writing and maths skills
- Prepare classroom resources and assist with daily learning activities
- Promote positive behaviour and support children's emotional wellbeing
- Work closely with teachers, the SENCo and wider school staff to meet individual pupil needs
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment
About You:
- Have experience working with children in schools, nurseries, childcare or similar settings
- Are passionate about supporting children's learning and development
- Have a patient, caring and adaptable approach
- Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families
- Can work confidently both independently and as part of a team
- Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Desirable Experience:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Experience supporting children with SEN or SEND
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Classroom Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant
