Axcis Education is recruiting an experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a welcoming primary school near Walsall. The role is full‑time, starting in September, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm. The primary responsibility is to support pupils' emotional wellbeing, helping them develop strategies to regulate behaviour and engage positively with learning. The daily rate for this position is £92.63.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children aged 4–11 years within a primary school setting
- Work closely with pupils with SEMH needs, providing tailored support
- Help students develop emotional regulation skills and coping strategies
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Provide a calm and consistent presence within the classroom
- Assist in creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or working with children with SEMH needs
- Strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills
- A patient, empathetic, and caring approach
- Ability to build strong, meaningful relationships with pupils
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Availability to work full‑time hours (Monday to Friday)
