Do you currently work in care or as a youth worker? Have you supported children or young adults with additional needs outside of education? Are you interested in working in schools but unsure how to take that first step? If so, we would love to hear from you. We are recruiting Teaching Assistants to work in specialist education settings in the Trowbridge area. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with transferable skills who are passionate about supporting vulnerable children and young people. As long as you have the right attitude, empathy, and commitment, we can support your transition into education.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting young adults or children with special educational needs
  • Worked in care, youth work, or other support-focused roles
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • The ability to focus on both outcomes and each student's individual journey

What you will need

  • You will need to be approachable, able to work with children of all ages, confident working independently, and comfortable being part of a wider team.
  • You must be suitably qualified for the position advertised and be prepared to attend a face to face interview with Axcis to demonstrate your suitability for this role.
  • You must also have an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.

  • Start date: ASAP
  • Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
  • Roles available: Full-time and part-time
  • Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
  • This is a temporary position, unless stated otherwise.
