Are you looking for a rewarding Teaching Assistant job in Bristol? Axcis Education is working in partnership with a leading alternative provision in Bristol that supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and behavioural challenges.
We are currently seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to work with Key Stage 4 students, helping them to succeed both academically and emotionally.
About the Role
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support students 1:1 and in small groups, tailoring learning to meet their individual needs.
- Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and re-engage with education.
- Use strategies such as de-escalation and positive behaviour management to create a safe, supportive environment.
- Work alongside teachers and support staff to deliver personalised learning plans.
- Act as a mentor and positive role model, building trusting relationships with students.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant in Bristol who is:
- Experienced in supporting young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or additional learning needs.
- Resilient, patient, and able to remain calm under pressure.
- Empathetic, compassionate, and confident in building strong relationships.
- Ideally trained in Team Teach or with a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) – but full training can be provided.
