We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support a welcoming primary school in E17, Waltham Forest. This is a full-time role supporting a mix of mainstream and SEN pupils, including children with ASD and non-verbal communication needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils in the classroom, both 1:1 and in small groups
- Providing tailored support for pupils with ASD and non-verbal needs
- Using visual aids, communication tools and structured routines to support learning
- Promoting positive behaviour, engagement and inclusion
- Supporting personal care where required
- Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team to follow individual support plans
Ideal Candidate
- Have experience working with children in a primary school setting
- Have knowledge or experience supporting ASD and non-verbal pupils (desirable)
- Be patient, nurturing and proactive
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
- Be committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
