SEN Teaching Assistant – High Needs (Reception & KS1)

Location: Near West Drayton Station

Start Date: September 2026

Trial Days: Available ASAP

Contract: Part‑Time – Wednesdays & Thursdays – Long‑Term (Full Academic Year)

Hours: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm

Salary: Competitive (Dependent on Experience)

About the School

Staff work collaboratively to create a nurturing, structured learning environment where pupils are supported academically, socially, and emotionally. The school is currently arranging trial days and is looking to secure the right candidate ahead of the September start.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small‑group support for Reception and KS1 pupils with additional needs.
  • Support pupils to engage in learning and classroom activities.
  • Assist with personal care as required, maintaining pupils’ dignity and wellbeing at all times.
  • Promote communication, independence, and positive social interactions.
  • Implement behaviour support strategies and encourage positive routines.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENDCo, therapists, and wider school staff.
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs, particularly within EYFS or KS1.
  • Confidence and willingness to provide personal care.
  • A calm, patient, proactive, and resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Team Teach training (desirable but not essential).
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Availability to work Wednesdays and Thursdays from September 2026.
  • Availability to attend trial days as soon as possible.
