Axcis Education is working with an all through SEND School, a fantastic specialist setting near Bicton, East Devon, to recruit a full-time Teaching Assistant. This is a rewarding opportunity to be part of a warm, dedicated team supporting pupils with complex additional needs, including autism, global developmental delay, and profound and multiple learning difficulties.

At the school no two days are the same and that’s what makes it so special. You’ll be helping students access learning in a highly personalised way, using sensory activities, communication aids, outdoor learning, and lots of creativity. Some students need support with personal care and physical needs, so you’ll need to be comfortable with that, but you’ll be fully supported by experienced staff.

Whether you’re helping in the classroom, out in the garden, or joining a swimming or rebound session, you’ll be playing a key role in helping young people feel safe, seen, and successful. We’re looking for someone who’s kind, patient, and ready to learn. You don’t need years of experience, just the right attitude and willingness to get stuck in. If you have experience in care, early years, SEND, or youth work, even better.

This is a full-time, term-time role with great training and potential for long-term work or even a permanent contract. So if you’re looking for a meaningful job where you’ll finish each day knowing you’ve made a difference, we’d love to hear from you. This role starts in the new academic year in September.

Axcis is an equal opportunities employer and as such we do not discriminate based on age, gender, disability, race or any other equal opportunities criteria. The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

As such, you will be required to provide an up to date DBS, or be prepared to allow Axcis to process one on your behalf, in addition to other mandatory compliance checks in line with the DfE guidelines.

Axcis Education is an employment agency offering temporary supply work for daily, short-term and long-term assignments in addition to permanent positions. You must be suitably qualified for the position advertised and be prepared to attend a face to face interview with Axcis to demonstrate your suitability for this role. Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
