Pay: £92.00 – £109.00 per day

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Taunton is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated specialist resource base from September. This is an exciting opportunity to support children with additional learning needs in a nurturing environment where every pupil is encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

Role

Working within the school's specialist SEN provision, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning and achieve their individual goals. You will work closely with teachers, the SEND team, and other professionals to deliver personalised support through both 1:1 sessions and small group interventions. Your role will focus on academic progress as well as developing communication, social skills, emotional wellbeing, and independence.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEND within the specialist resource base
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group learning activities
  • Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs
  • Encourage communication, confidence, and positive relationships
  • Support pupils with routines, transitions, and emotional regulation
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and external professionals
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience supporting children with SEND, either professionally or personally
