We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team and provide high-quality support to pupils in a Resource Base in a primary school in Swindon starting in September. The successful candidate must have qualifications and/or experience in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and experience with Makaton and personal care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing effective learning, physical care, personal care and social support for pupils in the resource base.
  • Supporting staff in the classroom setting and promoting positive behaviour.

Part-time role on term-time only basis from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualifications and/or experience in SEND.
  • Experience with Makaton.
  • Experience with personal care.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, ability to empathise and motivate.

Additional Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.

Axcis Education is an employment agency offering temporary supply work for daily, short-term and long-term assignments in addition to permanent positions. Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience. If the role involves working with children or vulnerable adults, it is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
