Are you passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Swanage is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 2 pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) from September 2026.
Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and encourage engagement.
- Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
- Work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to implement personalised support plans.
- Monitor progress, celebrate achievements, and contribute to pupil reviews and assessments.
- Help maintain a positive, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
Qualifications
- Personal or professional experience supporting children with SEN.
- Patient, caring, and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
- Can adapt your approach to meet individual learning and behavioural needs.
- Work effectively as part of a wider school team.
- Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
- Have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable due to the school's location).
