  • Plan and deliver personalised learning experiences tailored to the individual needs of pupils with PMLD and complex needs.
  • Support pupils’ communication, sensory development, engagement, and independence skills.
  • Create a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Develop individualised learning opportunities to support academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Build strong and meaningful relationships with pupils and their families.
  • Encourage confidence, engagement, and progress through a pupil-centred approach.
  • Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred or PGCE equivalent.
  • Experience teaching within SEND or specialist school settings.
  • Strong understanding of PMLD, complex needs, and personalised learning approaches.
  • Experience supporting pupils with a range of communication and developmental needs.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
  • A calm, patient, resilient, and nurturing approach.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a dedicated team.
  • Therapeutic, Relationship-Led Approach
  • Use calm, respectful, and consistent communication at all times.
  • Create clear and supportive boundaries for pupils.
  • Use positive reinforcement to encourage progress and celebrate achievements.
  • Be proactive and engaged within the classroom environment.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
