Job Title: Carpentry Instructor – SEND / Vocational Setting Location: Sutton, South London Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:00pm Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term Start Date: September 2025

We are recruiting a passionate and skilled Carpentry Instructor to join a specialist educational provision in Sutton. The school, part of an ‘Outstanding’ multi-academy trust, supports students with SEND, SEMH, and complex behavioural needs who thrive in vocational learning settings. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead carpentry sessions that help students develop practical skills, confidence, and pathways to employment or further training.

Responsibilities

Lead and deliver carpentry sessions, ensuring safety, supporting diverse learning needs, managing behaviour, and promoting student confidence and progression.

Qualifications

• Background in carpentry, joinery, or similar vocational trade
• Ability to adapt teaching to meet diverse learning needs
• Confidence managing behaviour and promoting safety in a workshop
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
