About the Role
A specialist middle school in Taunton is seeking a compassionate and resilient Student Support Mentor to join its dedicated team supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. This role is more than classroom support; you will become a key part of a nurturing environment that encourages students to develop confidence, communication skills, independence, and positive relationships alongside academic learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students throughout the school day both in lessons and around the school environment.
- Deliver tailored 1:1 support and small-group interventions.
- Help pupils develop social, emotional, and communication skills.
- Encourage engagement in learning and positive behaviour.
- Adapt activities to meet individual needs and learning styles.
- Build trusting relationships that help students feel safe, valued, and confident.
