We are seeking a resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. The role supports pupils with complex social, emotional and behavioural needs through a trauma‑informed approach, working closely with teachers and therapists to create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with SEMH needs in classroom and pastoral settings
- Apply trauma‑informed practices to aid emotional regulation and behaviour
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Assist in delivering personalised learning and intervention strategies
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment
- Support pupils in developing social skills, resilience, and self‑confidence
- Work collaboratively with staff, parents and carers to support holistic development
Qualifications & Experience
- Passionate about supporting young people with SEMH needs
- Patient, empathetic, and emotionally intelligent
- Skilled or willing to develop skills in trauma‑informed practice
- Resilient and calm under pressure
- Strong communication skills, able to build meaningful relationships
- Experience in education, care, youth work or a similar field (desirable but not essential)

This is a temporary position unless stated otherwise. Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
