Bridgwater – Pay: £92.00 – £109.00 per day. Contract: Full‑time, Term Time Only, starting September.
Role Overview
We are recruiting a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant for the specialist resource base within a thriving secondary school in Bridgwater. This role supports students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and communication needs, working closely with the wider school to help students access both personalised learning and mainstream lessons.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support for students with additional needs.
- Deliver small‑group interventions to develop communication, literacy, social skills, and independence.
- Support students both within the specialist resource base and in mainstream lessons where appropriate.
- Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and confidence.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SEND professionals.
- Create a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Patient, caring, and resilient.
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, autism, or additional needs (professionally or personally).
- Ability to build positive relationships with ease.
- Commitment to helping every student reach their potential.
- Enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.
