We are seeking a committed and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join the Reception team within the Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP) of a mainstream primary school in Southall. This full‑time, long‑term position supports children with complex special educational needs, including pupils who are pre‑verbal and require high levels of support throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with high‑level SEND within the ARP.
- Support pupils’ communication, learning and social development.
- Work closely with class teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals.
- Assist with personal care duties, including nappy changing and hygiene support, always carried out with a second adult present in line with safeguarding procedures.
- Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience supporting children with SEND, ideally within EYFS.
- Previous experience with personal care in a school or care setting (essential).
- Patient, resilient and proactive in approach.
- Confident supporting children with high and complex needs.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child development.
- Reliable and fully committed to the full academic year.
