Date: September 2026 Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (8:30am - 4:00pm) Axcis Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school near Solihull.

This rewarding full-time role involves supporting Key Stage 4 students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, challenging behaviour, and complex additional needs.

This position is ideal for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), Behaviour Mentor, SEMH Support Worker, or SEND Practitioner looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to Key Stage 4 students.
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies consistently and positively.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships that encourage student engagement and progress.
  • Support students' emotional wellbeing and personal development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Act as a calm and positive role model within the classroom.

About You

  • Previous experience working with children or young people.
  • Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, or behavioural needs.
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
  • Confidence, resilience, and the ability to maintain high expectations.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Availability to work full-time, Monday to Friday.
