We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school setting in Smethwick, starting as soon as possible. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity working within an Early Years environment, supporting pupils who require additional support. You will be providing tailored assistance either 1:1 or in small groups, helping children access learning and develop key early skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN in Early Years
  • Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and early intervention strategies
  • Assist with pupils’ learning, communication, emotional regulation, and social development
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and Early Years staff
  • Help create a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

Requirements:

  • Previous school-based experience is essential
  • Experience working with Early Years pupils and/or children with SEN is essential
  • A caring, patient, and flexible approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A valid DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
