We are looking for a dedicated and energetic special needs teaching assistant to join a SEND provision at a primary school in Slough, supporting children with complex autism and personal care needs. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 3:30pm, offering a daily rate of £89.

The position involves working closely with pupils who may display difficult or dangerous behaviour, providing one-to-one support to help them access learning and manage their emotions, both within the SEND setting and occasionally in mainstream classrooms. This high-energy role requires someone who is calm, adaptable, and able to build strong, trusting relationships with children while responding effectively to challenging situations. It is a rewarding opportunity for a TA with SEND experience who is passionate about making a real difference for pupils with complex needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one support to pupils with complex autism and personal care needs to access learning.
  • Support pupils who may display difficult or dangerous behaviour, responding calmly and effectively.
  • Work within the SEND provision and occasionally in mainstream classrooms.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with children and adapt to challenging situations.
Qualifications
  • Experience working with SEND, particularly pupils with complex autism.
  • Ability to stay calm, adaptable, and provide consistent support.
  • Willingness to undergo DBS and other mandatory compliance checks as per DfE guidelines.
