Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with autism and PDA.
- Adapt learning and communication strategies to meet the individual needs of the child.
- Build positive, trusting relationships by understanding the child's interests, strengths, and support needs.
- Support the child’s social, emotional, and academic development.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff to ensure effective support is in place.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly autism and/or PDA.
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a school team.
- An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Availability to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 4:00 pm.
