We have a SEND Teaching Assistant vacancy at a mainstream primary school in Central Birmingham. The school is looking for a SEND support assistant with experience of working with individuals with Complex Autism, including needs such as non-verbal communication, challenging behaviour and personal care.
The role is based within the school\βs Reception class, working through the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The school is looking for candidates familiar with developmental support of young children as well as experience in supporting autistic young children with complex additional needs such as challenging behaviour, non/pre-verbal communication and personal care.
Job Details
- Support role for pupils within reception
- Working with children pre-ASC diagnosis or with a diagnosis of ASC who have complex additional needs such as challenging behaviour, non/pre-verbal communication and personal care
- Full time (8:30am β 3:30pm, Monday to Friday)
- Ongoing basis, starting ASAP
Requirements
- Experience of working with individuals with ASD and using visual communication aids β Essential
- Strong behaviour management skills β Essential
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required or weβre happy to carry out a new one ahead of you starting the position β Essential
- Minimum of 2 good references β Essential
