Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Bournemouth Pay: £85-£95 per day Hours: 08:30 – 15:30, Monday to Friday (Full-Time) Start Date: September 2025 Are you a passionate Primary Teaching Assistant looking for an exciting new role in Bournemouth? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Axcis Education is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work in a mainstream primary school, starting this January. This is a full-time position, offering both general classroom support and 1:1 sessions with students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will also lead literacy sessions for low-level students. For the right candidate, this role could become permanent. Your Role: As a Teaching Assistant, you will: • Provide general classroom support, assisting the class teacher with day-to-day tasks and ensuring all students are included in learning activities. • Work with SEND students on a 1:1 basis, offering targeted support during lessons and facilitating sensory or brain breaks when needed. • Lead literacy sessions with low-level students, helping them improve reading, writing, and comprehension skills. • Be an integral part of the school community, helping all students to overcome learning barriers and engage positively with their education. The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for someone who is: • Motivated and has a positive attitude. • Patient, calm, and empathetic when working with students with additional needs. • Reliable, flexible, and able to use their initiative in various situations. • Experienced in SEN/SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) support – essential for this role. • Previous experience in education is preferred, and experience leading literacy sessions is a plus.
