Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Edgware (Immediate Start) Axcis Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a primary-aged pupil with autism (ASD) on a 1:1 basis at a welcoming school in Edgware.
This is a full-time role starting immediately, with interviews taking place as soon as possible. About the Role:
Location: Edgware
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:20am – 3:45pm
Start Date: ASAP
The successful candidate will be working closely with a primary school student who has ASD. The role will focus on:
- Supporting the child’s learning and development on a 1:1 basis
- Implementing strategies to manage challenging behaviour effectively and calmly
- Encouraging communication and interaction, with a focus on speech and language development
- Working closely with the SENCO, class teacher, and external professionals to provide consistent and effective support
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience supporting children with autism in a primary school setting
- Be confident managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies
- Have knowledge or experience of supporting speech and language development
- Be patient, resilient, and committed to helping pupils achieve their full potential
