This role supports post‑16 learners with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, physical disabilities, and complex learning needs. The Learning Support Assistant plays a vital role in helping students develop independence, confidence, life skills, and academic progress within a supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities- Providing high‑quality 1:1 and small‑group support to learners with SEND.
- Supporting students in classroom‑based and practical learning activities.
- Assisting with creative and vocational sessions, including arts, drama, cooking, and community‑based learning.
- Encouraging independence, social development, and confidence‑building.
- Supporting learners with communication, emotional regulation, and engagement.
- Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Assisting with personal care where required, maintaining dignity and respect at all times.
- Working closely with teaching staff and other professionals to support individual learning goals.
