We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified SEMH Teacher to join a dedicated and supportive team at a specialist provision in Sutton, London. This is a full-time position for a passionate educator who thrives on making a real difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet the needs of students with SEMH
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students and staff
- Use trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches to behaviour management
- Work collaboratively with SENCOs, therapists, and support staff
- Track and assess student progress, maintaining clear records and reports
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) – Essential
- Proven experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs
- Strong knowledge of strategies for supporting emotional and behavioural development
- Calm, consistent, and empathetic approach to teaching
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS (on the update service) or willingness to obtain one
