Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in a primary school setting? Do you have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Axcis Education is recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistants to work in welcoming and inclusive schools across the Kidderminster area. These full-time roles begin in September and offer the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children who require additional support to achieve their full potential.
Working closely with class teachers and SEND professionals, you will provide tailored support to pupils, helping to promote academic progress, independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
- Support class teachers with the delivery of differentiated learning activities for pupils with SEND.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group interventions to support learning and engagement.
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs), behaviour support strategies and classroom adaptations.
- Use assistive technology, visual aids and other specialist resources to support pupil development.
- Monitor, record and report on pupil progress and achievements.
- Encourage a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Support the social, emotional and behavioural development of pupils.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, parents and external professionals.
- Contribute to safeguarding responsibilities and attend relevant meetings and training.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school setting.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND, including autism, ADHD, SEMH or learning difficulties.
- A good understanding of inclusive education and SEND support strategies.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- Availability to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am β 4:00pm.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, nurturing approach.
