Role Overview
- You will be teaching a small class of primary‑aged pupils with SEND, supported by a team of experienced Teaching Assistants.
- The role will involve planning and delivering highly differentiated lessons that are practical, engaging and tailored to pupils’ individual learning needs.
- Plan and deliver creative, accessible lessons for pupils with a range of SEND needs.
- Support children with autism, communication needs and sensory processing differences.
- Use visual supports, structured routines and practical learning opportunities.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants to ensure consistency across the classroom.
- Contribute to EHCP targets, progress tracking and review meetings.
What We’re Looking For
- QTS / QTLS, or strong teaching experience within SEND.
- Experience teaching pupils with autism or complex learning needs.
- Strong behaviour management and excellent classroom structure.
- Ability to differentiate lessons creatively and effectively.
- A calm, patient and reflective teaching style.
Benefits and Working Conditions
Benefits include a supportive Havering school environment where SEND provision is valued and properly resourced. Salary payable per day: £180–£240 depending on skills and experience. The position is full‑time, long‑term and scheduled to start in September.
