Axcis Education is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a vibrant primary school in Rochdale, Lancashire. We are looking for a professional who is committed to providing exceptional PPA cover across Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2, with the versatility to step in for absence cover when required.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons, planned by the class teacher, to whole classes during teacher PPA time.
- Lead small groups and work one on one with students, providing tailored support and intervention.
- Support with the planning and preparation of activities and classroom resources.
- Assist in the evaluation and assessment of pupils' progress under the guidance of the class teacher.
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and support staff to enhance the learning environment.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
- Support the personal, social, and academic development of students.
- Utilize strategies to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Requirements
- HLTA qualification or higher (essential).
- Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant in UK schools.
- Clear understanding and experience of working with students with SEND.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Strong communication skills with fluent spoken English.
- Experience leading lessons and teaching whole classes.
