Location: Havering, RM11 Pay: £14.25 - 16 p/h (Depending on Experience) Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:45 AM - 4:00 PM Starting Date: September 2026
We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a student with autism (aged 16-19) in a mainstream school. This rewarding role involves helping the student overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 academic support.
- Assist the student in engaging with classroom activities and following their learning plan.
- Work closely with teaching staff to monitor progress and encourage independence.
- Support with personal care when required.
Requirements
- A patient, caring, and proactive approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Previous experience supporting students with SEND is desirable but not essential.
- Enhanced Child and Adult DBS, or willingness to obtain one.
