A specialist provision in Plymouth is looking for a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant to join its team from September 2026. The setting supports pupils from Year 3 to Year 11 with Educational, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) relating to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and/or Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils in lessons and small groups.
  • Encourage emotional regulation and independence.
  • Assist with outdoor and vocational activities.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

About the Provision

  • Forest School for primary pupils.
  • Craft, Design Technology and Farm sites for secondary pupils.
  • Access to specialist external training providers.

Ideal Candidate

  • Have experience with SEMH and/or autism (preferred).
  • Be patient, adaptable and supportive.
  • Work well as part of a team.
  • Be passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.

Location: Plymouth

Start Date: September 2026

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Pay: £92–£96 per day (INDDEV)
