Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs and trauma-related behaviours.
- Build trusting, consistent relationships that promote engagement and positive outcomes.
- Deliver outreach support within the community, helping students access education and wider opportunities.
- Support students in developing emotional regulation, resilience, confidence, and social skills.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external agencies to meet students' individual needs.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to student progress reviews.
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults.
- Maths & English GCSE C or above.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Business insurance for vehicle use, as the role involves frequent community outreach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience supporting children and young people with SEMH needs.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice.
- Experience within alternative provision, special educational needs, youth work, social care, or similar settings.
- Knowledge of behaviour support strategies and restorative approaches.
