A warm, inclusive primary school in West Drayton is seeking a kind, proactive, and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision within a mainstream setting, supporting reception-aged pupils. The role involves a strong focus on sensory play and bucket play activities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 and small group support
- Provide academic and emotional support in line with EHCP targets
- Help pupils stay focused, engaged, and regulated throughout the school day
- Support communication development within a language-friendly classroom
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Assist with personal care tasks where required (e.g. toileting)
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Qualifications
- Experience supporting children with Autism, ADHD, or similar complex needs
- Confidence supporting SEND pupils within a school setting
- A strong understanding of the UK national curriculum
- A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to behaviour support
- Willingness to support with personal care when required
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- A nurturing, proactive mindset and strong teamwork skills
