Axcis Education are currently recruiting for a 1-1 teaching assistant to work in a mainstream primary school in Ormskirk. This would be a full time position, working Monday to Friday, 8.30-3.30, due to begin in the coming weeks. There is potential for a permanent position dependent on the school’s needs.

The role involves working 1-1 with a male year 4 student, who has learning difficulties and some SEMH needs. He is working below his age related expectations and requires a bit of extra support to bring him up to speed. The school are looking for a consistent, proactive and hardworking individual to build a positive, trusting relationship with this student. The role may also involve a bit of general TA work and small group work, depending on the school’s needs.

The school is a larger than average mainstream provision in Ormskirk. During its most recent OFSTED inspection, the school was rated as ‘good’, with note given to the strength of the senior leadership and the support provided to the teachers. There is a car park onsite for drivers, as well as good public transport links within walking distance of the school.

To be considered for this role, you must have previous experience working with children in some form. This experience would ideally be in a school setting, but we are willing to consider applicants from other fields, including coaching, care or youth work, provided you have the relevant experience with SEND. Applicants will require an enhanced DBS on the update service for this position. If you do not have one, Axcis can help you apply for a new one.
