Axcis Education is partnering with a mainstream primary school in Ormskirk to fill a Level 3 Teaching Assistant position, full‑time from 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. The role commences on Monday 15th June, initially until the end of the current academic year, with a strong possibility of extension into September and potential for permanent employment.
Responsibilities
- Support a small group of five pupils with additional needs within the school’s SEND classroom.
- Lead classroom activities under the guidance of the senior leadership team to deliver a structured and engaging learning environment.
- Assist pupils with personal care; three children require daily support.
- Manage behaviour positively and calmly when pupils display challenging behaviours.
Qualifications
- Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Previous experience supporting children with autism, learning difficulties, speech and language needs, and challenging behaviour is essential.
- A recent or newly qualified teacher (ECT) may also apply to gain valuable experience in a SEND setting.
- Patient, nurturing and passionate about helping children with additional needs reach their full potential.
