We are seeking a compassionate and motivated ASD teaching assistant to join our welcoming and supportive school community in Salford. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally within a structured and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) alongside the class teacher
  • Use ASD-specific strategies to promote learning, engagement, and social development
  • Support pupils with challenging behaviour using positive behaviour management approaches
  • Adapt learning activities to promote inclusion and accessibility
  • Support communication development, including PECS, Makaton, or other communication tools
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing observations with the wider SEN team
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
  • Engage in ongoing professional development related to ASD and SEN best practice

About You

  • A Level 2 (or higher) qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (preferred)
